Julien Le Roy Paris
At the age of thirteen, Le Roy built his first large clock. In the same year (1699), he moved to Paris to apprentice. In 1713, he obtained his master’s title, and in the following years, he became a juré of the Paris guild of watchmakers. In 1739, he was appointed the Royal Watchmaker (French: Horloger Ordinaire du Roi) under Louis XV. Examples of his clocks can be found in various museums around the world, such as the Louvre and the Victoria and Albert Museum.

Magnificent dial for Oman with fine black numbers on white cardboard - outer minute track also on white enamel cards. Gold background with various colorful enamel flowers. Above the hand shaft, a cartridge with Jn LEROY - below A PARIS - blued. - Absolutely beautiful condition, rarely offered.
Fine gold-plated classic movement with floral spindle brackets. Speed adjustment screw in silver. Made by Jn. Le Roy Paris.
Spindle drive system - functioning - produced around 1780.
As a collectible item, the running accuracy and running duration were not tested.
Watch diameter 57mm - height with pendant 78mm - weight 107.8g.
Lift on the back side - lockable access hole.
