Although the invention of the magic lantern is generally attributed to the 17th century, its greatest popularity as an optical projector was found between the late 18th and early 20th centuries. It was used both for entertainment and education.

17 photographic positives mounted between two glass plates, measuring 8.5 x 10 cm. They were used in magic lantern or episcopes projectors, which illuminated the image from behind to project it onto a screen or wall. They allowed for large-format images before projectors existed.

Unique Objects

Occasionally, two different bidders may show up in the bidding history with the same bid amount. This occurs when one user's bid is exactly the same as an automatic (maximum) bid placed by another user earlier. Since the auto-bid was placed first, this takes preference. The bidding history will show both bids, with the auto-bid ranked as the higher of the two.


Double bid

It may appear that the same bid has been placed by two different bidders. This can occur if someone places a bid in another currency which is then rounded to the same amount as the previous bid in %{local_currency}.
