Panama Limited ‎ - Denis Parker (vocals), Gary Compton (harmonica), Brian Strachan (guitar), Liz Hanns (vocals), Pete Hozzell (vocals), Ron Needs (mandolin), Anne Matthews (vocals) Initially blues-infused jug band rockers, later with Beefheartian elements and baroque arrangements. 1960s jug band blues group led by Denis Parker alongside Gary Compton and Brian Strachan. Panama Limited Jug Band is named after a song by Bukka White (from 1930). The band was based in the Richmond district of London, which at the time was a hotbed for blues (the Crawdaddy Club), especially acoustic blues. Denis became disillusioned with the music business and left the industry. After their first LP, they shortened their name to Panama Ltd. This second album replaces their early jug band sound with a kind of Beefheart-influenced prog rock.
