Gres Jarra de cerveza - 21 cm - Jarra de cerveza (Sin precio de reserva)

Large early stoneware Beer jug –Siegburg, Germany- around 1400 On offer is a rare early, large stoneware beer jug, made in Siegburg around 1400. This beautiful and ruggedly designed beer jug has strong spiral grooves and a sturdy handle. This larger jug has a nicely pinched base. The jug has a gray-white color with traces of salt glaze here and there, typical for Siegburg production. This is a good example of the transition from proto-stoneware to fully sintered stoneware! Provenance: From our own collection, acquired ca. 1995 from Kroezenga collection. Date: late 14th to early 15th Century, ca. 1375-1425. Size: The height is 21 cm and the diameter of the belly is approximately 16 cm. Condition: The jug is in good, light restored condition. The jug is intact and only has some filled chips and rough spots at the foot rim. A small damage / chip at the belly (1cm) has been restored, this is not visible, only with UV light at the inside (total originality approximately 99%). Will be packed very well and shipped with registered track/trace with insurance. Combined shipping possible, we return postage costs.
