Theatre maker Robert Wilson worked on the Dutch section of The CIVIL warS in Rotterdam, contributing to the large-scale, international theatre project developed in the early 1980s. His segment reflected Wilson’s distinctive theatrical language, combining precise visual composition, slow movement, light, and sound into a poetic stage experience. Created with Dutch collaborators and performers, the Rotterdam section formed an essential part of the broader work, which brought together different cultural perspectives on conflict, history, and human identity. My role as assistant was to tell him to stop drawing, as he had the attitude to destroy drawings by overworking. This drawing was included in several exibitions in Italy, France and Holland.
