The 18-year-old Hakushu is a fantastic single malt whiskey produced by the largest malt whisky distillery not only in Japan, but in the world. The peculiarity of this distillery, in addition to the malt imported directly from Scotland, is its altitude (700m): this particular influences the product because the altitude and climate make the whiskey age more slowly while reducing the influence of wood on the distillate.
