Item 107. Islamic Bronce Anillo - Medieval 10th - 14th AD (Sin precio de reserva)

Medieval Bronze Finger Ring – AD 10th to 14th Century – 26 × 18 mm – 6.95 g This well-preserved medieval bronze finger ring features a prominent circular bezel engraved with a stylized cross motif, characteristic of personal devotional jewelry from the High Middle Ages. Such rings were commonly worn by laypeople and clergy alike, serving both as expressions of faith and as personal identifiers or talismans. The ring is cast in bronze and displays a sturdy hoop with a slightly thickened shoulder supporting the bezel. The engraved cross is executed with confident, linear incisions, suggesting deliberate craftsmanship rather than purely decorative intent. The overall form aligns with widely attested European medieval ring types dating between the 10th and 14th centuries. The surface exhibits a stable green patina consistent with long-term burial, with minor surface wear that does not detract from the clarity of the design. The ring remains structurally complete and visually coherent. • Material: Bronze • Dimensions: 26 × 18 mm (approx. 18 mm internal diameter) • Weight: 6.95 g • Date: ca. AD 10th–14th century • Condition: Very good condition, stable patina with expected wear and minor surface irregularities An authentic medieval ring combining devotional symbolism and everyday functionality, representative of personal adornment and belief in medieval Europe. Provenance: Acquired from an auction house in 2025, previously owned by a collector from the South of Germany, acquired in the 1980s.
