"Self Spectrum V – The Final Piece" This work marks the closing moment of the Self Spectrum series. Throughout the series I explored the idea of identity not as a fixed portrait, but as an evolving field of color, emotion, and inner states. In this final piece, the human face emerges softly from darkness, illuminated by surreal tones of green and pink. The figure appears suspended between presence and transformation, as if identity itself is still forming. The extended shape and flowing color around the head suggest the invisible energies that shape who we become, memories, emotions, and silent inner movements. For me, this painting represents a moment of pause at the end of a journey. The Self Spectrum series was never about depicting a specific person, but about capturing the shifting landscapes of the self. In this final work, the figure feels more human, more vulnerable, almost as if the mask of abstraction is slowly dissolving. It is both a conclusion and a quiet opening, an invitation to reflect on the many versions of ourselves that exist beneath the surface. About the artist: Iacob Mircea holds both a BA and an MA in Painting, and is currently in the final year of his PhD in Painting, all completed with merit scholarships. His artistic path reflects a wide professional range, from having his studio at the Palace of Culture in Ploiești to engaging in international projects in New York, including a partnership with Ralph Lauren. He has presented numerous solo exhibitions in Romania and abroad, participating both individually and as part of the academic group of the National University of Arts in Bucharest.
