Reverse: CONSECRATIO, S-C, eagle standing on altar, head left. -> This coin was struck just after Marcus Aurelius' death on March 17, 180 AD to honour his memory. Diameter: ± 31,8 mm Condition: Good fine condition with a nice portrait of the Emperor. Smooth olive-green patina. Historical context: -> Coins were powerful instruments of communication in the ancient world.
