Edad del Bronce Bronce Arrowhead Group (5) (Sin precio de reserva)
A group of five Bronze Age bronze arrowheads, all featuring prominent central midribs. Four of the five arrowheads feature triangular blades with short stems and narrow tangs. Two of the four arrowheads with triangular blades featuring long, sharp barbs, whilst the one features shallow barbs, formed from downward sloping shoulders, and the other features square shoulders. The fifth arrowhead features a leaf-shaped arrowhead, with a very short stem and short tang. Patination and earthy encrustation to the surface of all arrowheads. Signs of wear as consistent with age, including chipping to the edges and barbs, scratches, and pitting. The tang of the longest arrowhead is bent.
In ancient times a number of nomadic populations, such as the Medes and the Kassites, settled in the Western Asiatic area. Due to the nomadic nature of the tribes, none of the bronzes were of great size, since it was required for them to be light and portable. Excavated items often included weapons, tools, and finials, as well as small amulets and fittings. Everyday objects are also found including pins and bracelets. Their artwork mainly comprises ornaments, vessels and weapons. Archaeological evidence suggests that the bronze objects often serve ceremonial functions given their funerary contexts.
