In 2009, the Japanese blended whisky Hibiki 12 was first released to mark the 110th anniversary of the Suntory distillery—it is blended from an incredible 30 different Japanese grain and malt whiskies. The name says it all, by the way, as “Hibiki” means “harmony” in Japanese. This perfectly describes the unique character of Hibiki 12. The stylish bottle with 24 facets is meant to represent the 24 seasons of the ancient Japanese Sekki tradition. The label is made of handmade bamboo paper. Impressive. Just like the success of Hibiki 12: The whiskey has won multiple awards at international competitions. In 2012 and 2014, it won double gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition; in 2010, it received gold at the International Spirits Challenge and, in the same year, also gold (“Best in Class”) at the International Spirit Competition.
