Edad del Bronce Bronce Arrowhead Group (3) (Sin precio de reserva)
A group of three Bronze Age bronze arrowheads. Two of the arrowheads feature a triangular blade with a raised central midrib that leads to a cylindrical stem and narrow tang. One of these arrowheads displays long, sharp barbs, while the other has square, straight shoulders. The third arrowhead features an elongated leaf-shaped blade with a raised central midrib and a short stem. Patination and earthly encrustations to the surface. Signs of wear as consistent with age, such as chipping to the edges, scratches, and surface roughness. The tang of the barbed arrowhead is bent into a curving shape.
In ancient times a number of nomadic populations, such as the Medes and the Kassites, settled in the Western Asiatic area. Due to the nomadic nature of the tribes, none of the bronzes were of great size, since it was required for them to be light and portable. Excavated items often included weapons, tools, and finials, as well as small amulets and fittings. Everyday objects are also found including pins and bracelets. Their artwork mainly comprises ornaments, vessels and weapons. Archaeological evidence suggests that the bronze objects often serve ceremonial functions given their funerary contexts.
