Witchcraft; Original Witch condemnation from 1603

Judgement against Ursula Grimm from Mainflingen (Germany) in a witch trial - dated August 2nd, 1603 - 1 leaf, one side inscribed (on the back just the word 'Urteil) - Dim. 21 x 24.5 cm. The paper has a watermark that resembles a civic crest. Only a handful of copies like this were made for family and fellow villagers of the convicted. We add some (German language) documentation on the subject. Wicca is popular nowadays, but was not previously appreciated. ¶ During the reign of the Archbishop and Elector of Mainz, Johann Adam von Bicken (1564-1604) it came in 1603 to a peak of the witch trials in the diocese. Only in Seligenstadt belonging to Mainflingen there were already three and throughout Seligenstadt 14 processes under Adam von Bicken. Ursula Grimm was probably arrested because of the statements that were obtained under torture by Anna Schmidtner. She accused Ursula Grimm and seven other "witches" to have been present at her marriage with the devil on the meadow in Zellhausen.
