Citroën - ID 19 B Serie - NO RESERVE - 1969

From a Peso da Régua Garage to Showroom Perfection Eight years ago, this Citroen was discovered tucked away in a family garage, waiting for a second life. We didn't just fix it—we reborn it. Under the hands of a former Citroen specialist, the car was completely disassembled and the bodywork painstakingly "de-boned" and repaired. We left the rust in the past, replacing the entire floor and treating the metal to ensure this classic never sees corrosion again. Dressed in its original colors and retaining its authentic mileage, this Portuguese-native Citroen is arguably one of the finest examples on the market today. Here is the storyteller version, woven into a seamless narrative without bullet points to maintain a classic, sophisticated flow: A Portuguese Time Capsule: From Peso da Régua to Covilhã This 1968 Citroen is far more than a vintage vehicle; it is a beautifully preserved piece of Portuguese heritage. Originally sold new in Portugal, the car remained with its founding family in Peso da Régua for decades until I became only its second owner since 1968. Under my care, it underwent a total, specialist restoration to return it to the road in breathtaking condition. The quality of this revival is officially recognized by the CPAA (Clube Português de Automóveis Antigos), whose rigorous inspection of the body, chrome, and mechanics has certified this car as a true historical specimen. Today, the car stands as a rust-free survivor that looks and drives as if it were 1968 all over again. Every piece of original equipment remains in working order, from the nostalgic chime of the horn and the glow of the lights to the integrated car radio and sound system. While the car is mechanically superb, I believe in total transparency for the next collector. During its restoration journey, the small dashboard clock and the rear right door lock were unfortunately lost. Furthermore, there is a minor, non-critical seep in the rear suspension tubes, a detail we left original as we awaited the perfect genuine replacement parts to appear on the market. Residing now in Covilhã, Portugal, this Citroen offers a rare provenance that is hard to find in the classic car world. It represents a lifetime of care, two dedicated owners, and a specialist restoration that has left the rot and rust of the past far behind. It is now ready for its third chapter, offering its next owner a turn-key experience of 1960s French elegance and Portuguese history. Bodywork/Paintwork: All of the car's sheet metal was stripped to the bone, the entire bottom of the car was replaced, the work was carried out at the time by a former Citroen specialist about 8 years ago, the sheet metal received anti-corrosion treatment. Technical: The car has been inspected and is working and running well. The motor has been completely rebuild due to a Overheat problem solved in 2022, A new Radiator was fitted in 2022 too, so the next owner of the car will not spend anything in the motor of this timeless classic. Interior: The entire interior of the car, dashboard, seats, carpet, headlining, was dismantled and repaired/upholstered in leather, maintaining the car's original colors.
