The violin has an excellent straight high grained spruce of the top and two pieces back of strongly flamed maple with matched sides and scroll. The purfling is professionally executed and the edges are masterfully done. The original varnish of reddish color remains in good condition. The whole length of the violin is 586 mm and the back 354 mm. The width of the upper bouts: 166 mm; middle bouts: 112 mm; lower bouts: 204 mm.
