Edad del Bronce Bronce Arrowhead (Sin precio de reserva)
A fine Bronze Age cast bronze arrowhead, featuring a triangular blade with barbs and a prominent central midrib. One edge of the blade is chipped towards the upper half of the blade and around the shoulder. The blade descends into a short cylindrical stem, leading to a long and narrow tang. Patination and earthly encrustations to the surface.
In ancient times a number of nomadic populations, such as the Medes and the Kassites settled in the Western Asiatic region. Due to the nomadic nature of the tribes, none of these bronzes were of great size, since it was required for them to be light and portable. Their artwork mainly comprises ornaments, vessels and weapons. Most of these bronze items have been recovered in funerary contexts.
Measurements: (circa) L 18.2cm x W 2.5cm
Provenance: Ex. London Collection, formed between 1990 - present.
