Description fournie par le vendeur
This edition entitled Saafiya and released by 1xRun in 2015, belongs to one of the most emblematic bodies of work by Doze Green, developed around dense graphic compositions built from interwoven white lines.
This series is particularly representative of the practice for which the American artist is best known and most appreciated by collectors, combining the heritage of graffiti with drawing and references to comparative religions and ancient civilisations, resulting in a deeply symbolic visual language.
• Hand-signed and hand-numbered on the front, 41/100
• Rare and exclusive print, sold unframed
• In perfect condition
• Carefully packed, rolled in a tube and placed in a shipping carton
• Secure shipping with tracking and insurance
• Accompanied by its certificate of authenticity
Doze Green (born 1964) is a major figure of New York graffiti and hip-hop culture. Active since the 1970s, he developed a highly distinctive graphic language early on and exhibited from the beginning of the 1980s in key venues such as Fun Gallery, Fashion Moda and Tony Shafrazi Gallery, alongside artists including Keith Haring and Rammellzee.
Alongside graffiti, he was also a member of the Rock Steady Crew, contributing to the emergence of hip-hop culture in all its forms. His work is strongly narrative and symbolic, drawing on comparative religions, mythologies and ancient civilisations to create dense, inhabited compositions.
Doze Green has been represented by Galerie CHENUS LONGHI since 2013. He has taken part in numerous international exhibitions, including The Bridges of Graffiti as part of the Venice Biennale in 2015 and Beyond the Street in 2019, and was the subject of a major solo exhibition at the Museum of Graffiti in Miami in 2022.
