Art Deco Cobalt Blue Overlaid Crystal Faceted Vase – Carl Meltzer & Co., Haida, Bohemia, ca. 1915-1920 Striking Art Deco/Wiener Werkstätte geometric style, featuring heavy horizontal tiered prism facets on a hexagonal column body. Intricately hand-cut radial starburst pattern (star-cut base), covering the entire hexagonal underside. Modernist/Cubist influences, highly reminiscent of Josef Hoffmann’s architectural glass designs. Excellent transparency with vibrant, deep cobalt blue hues and no internal cloudiness/sickness. Condition is very good vintage. No chips and cracks, no restorations. Tiny and insignificant traces of time and use. Small imperfections inside the glass - production related.
