Benoît Gautier with his familial Domaine de la Châtaigneraie is rare in the media, but it should not be overlooked. Son Vouvray, a soft wine from the cuvée Saint-Martin, is produced in the years of maturity and optimum botrytis and is a reference for the appellation. This batch consists of 8 bottles of 50 cl: 4 bottles from 2011 and 4 bottles from 2018. These are the last 2 vintages on sale. The 2011 opens with a frank olfaction evoking fruit, honey and white flowers. The palate, with aromas of ripe fruits, acacia, honey and vanilla, is enthusiastic with its intensity, freshness and balance. The 2018 is a dense wine, of beautiful intense yellow color, with fresh and complex nose on aromas of white flowers and acacia. The mouth is refined! To be enjoyed or kept in the cellar for another 25-30 years.
