"Mushin" is the pictorial expression of the Zen concept of "empty mind."

In this state of non-thought, action (or art, in this case) emerges spontaneously, pure and unforced. The gray, textured brushstrokes represent the background noise of daily life and the dualistic world, from which a flash of gold light emerges: the Mushin. The gold is the pure action, the essence that manifests the moment the mind is completely free and open. The artwork is an invitation to meditation, a visual reminder to let thought flow in order to discover the inherent brilliance that resides in everything around us.
