Vaso - Ceramica - Giappone - Shigaraki ware (Senza prezzo di riserva)

1) Item Description This is a beautiful Shigaraki ware vase by the artist Toyo (富洋), featuring an elegant plum blossom (ume) motif. It comes with its original wooden tomobako box, signed and stamped by the artist. Shigaraki ware is one of Japan’s Six Ancient Kilns and is widely admired for its rustic textures, natural clay surfaces, and expressive kiln-fired color variations. The vase has a warm, earthy surface typical of Shigaraki clay, with natural gradations from sandy beige to deep charcoal tones. The hand-applied plum blossom design stands out in relief, giving the piece a sense of depth and traditional Japanese charm. The rim is covered with a soft green glaze that flows naturally downward, creating a dynamic contrast with the rough, textured body. On the reverse side, the natural ash glaze from the firing process has created beautiful kiln effects, adding character to the piece. The artist’s impressed seal is clearly visible on the base. This vase combines the natural beauty of Shigaraki material with the elegance of traditional plum motifs, making it a wonderful decorative object or addition to a Japanese ceramic collection. 2) Artist Information – Toyo(富洋) / Shigaraki Ware Toyo (富洋) is a Shigaraki-based ceramic artist known for producing works rooted in traditional Shigaraki aesthetics while incorporating delicate decorative elements such as plum blossoms.
