In 1979, a young, aspiring dancer of 20 took a job as a nude model
in a photography class in New York City.
She was relatively new to the city, working as a waitress, and still
a few years away from the career that would transform her into the international superstar known
as Madonna. The images from this class were rediscovered decades
later. They show the young woman, confident and beautiful, even before her fame.
