The eaux-de-vie of Hennessy XXO Cognac were carefully set aside and preserved in French oak casks by the cellar master several generations ago to create a reserve with promising potential. The decanter has been specially modified by an artist designer to pay homage to two families: that of the founder Hennessy and that of the Maison's cellar masters. It was at the same time as the XO cuvée that Hennessy X.X.O. was born, in 1870. Master blender Emile Fillioux had decided to reserve eaux-de-vie with promising potential. The result was so surprising that this discovery went around the world. Thanks to the house's records, several shipments were made all over the world, including to the USA, China and Germany a few years after its creation. It was in 2018 when the 7th generation of Cellar Masters represented by Yann Fillioux and after 50 years of career in the Hennessy house, that the X.X.O. cuvée saw the light of day again.

The cognac Hennessy X.X.O was first created in 1870 alongside Hennessy X.O, when Master Blender Emile Fillioux set aside eaux-de-vie with great potential. The result was such a significant find that it was launched around the world, starting in 1871. With the savoir-faire inherited by his family, Yann Fillioux, 7th generation of Master Blender, decided to re-create the Hennessy X.X.O in 2018.
