Vaso ikebana - Gres - Giappone - Coppia di arte scultorea (Senza prezzo di riserva)

This sculptural pair of Japanese ikebana vases is made of glazed stoneware and originates from Tokoname, Aichi Prefecture, one of Japan’s most important ceramic production areas. Both pieces share the same height while differing slightly in width and opening shape, creating a balanced and intentional dialogue between form and colour. Displayed together, they function not only as ikebana vessels but also as sculptural objects, characteristic of late 20th-century Japanese modernist ceramics. During this period, many Japanese ceramic works produced for the export market were commonly marketed under the name “Toyo Japan”, which has since become well known and appreciated among international collectors of Japanese design ceramics. This pair reflects that era’s aesthetic sensibility, combining bold curved forms with a strong visual presence. The yellow vase retains its original box, on which “Tokoname ware (常滑焼)” is clearly stated. The blue vase is without its box. Both pieces are in excellent condition, with only minor firing marks and glaze irregularities that are inherent to the original production process and typical of Tokoname stoneware. A compelling and decorative pair, suitable for ikebana arrangements or as a standalone sculptural display. Size Yellow vase Height: 17.5 cm Width: 29.5 cmx8cm Opening: approx. 6.5 × 4.5 cm Weight: approx. 1.386 kg Blue vase Height: 17.5 cm Width: 27.5 cmx8cm Opening: approx. 7.0 × 4.5 cm Weight: approx. 1.416 kg Condition Both vases are in excellent condition. There are no cracks, chips, or structural damage. Minor firing marks, glaze pooling, pinholes, and slight surface irregularities are present and are consistent with the original production process, typical of Tokoname stoneware. These characteristics should be regarded as part of the material’s authentic character rather than defects. The yellow vase retains its original box, which clearly states “Tokoname ware (常滑焼)”. The blue vase is without its original box. Shipping & Delivery Policy Shipping will be via Japan Post with tracking.
