An engraving or "vignette", of Chinese banknotes issued by the China Bank of Communications around 1908–1911.
The engraving depicts Zaifeng, Prince Chun, in an oval portrait flanked by a dragon and farmers at work.
It's attributed to Lorenzo Hatch, a renowned engraver who worked on both U.S. and Chinese currency.
The vignette is in very good condition, the back has the velvet broken and it has been opened to verify the item (see pictures that are part of this description), the engraving size is 7,5 cm. × 18 cm. and the wooden traditional shaped frame is 40x 30; the label with chinese carachters on the back says: "Hand-crafted steel engraving - Qin Dynasty cloud and dragon image".
The Chinese traditionally shaped frame presents slight scratch and traces of age.
The total weight of the item with frame is about 350 gr.
