Large French figural oil lamp “Le Jour” by Bruchon – Belle Époque – ca. 1900
Description:
Beautiful and large French antique figural oil lamp titled “Le Jour” and signed Bruchon. The sculpture depicts a classical young woman holding the oil lamp aloft. This model was produced in France during the Belle Époque period and is a highly decorative example of late 19th / early 20th century interior lighting.
The sculpture is made of régule (spelter/zinc alloy) with a bronze patina. The lamp features a glass oil reservoir, original Duplex No. 2 burner, and a tall glass chimney. A brass title plaque is present: “Le Jour – Par Bruchon”.
Dimensions:
• Total height (including glass chimney): 96 cm
• Height of the figure: 50 cm
• Height of the base: 20 cm
Condition:
In good antique condition with normal signs of age and use. Complete and stable. Minor wear to patina consistent with age. No major damage observed.
