Jan H. B. Koekkoek (1840-1912) - Country Path

Very beautiful oil on canvas painting by Johannes Hermanus Barend Koekkoek (known as Jan H. B. Koekkoek) (Dutch, 1840 - 1912) - "Country Path".

Oil on canvas. It is not framed. Signed lower center right in brown with "H B Koekkoek".

Old collector's wax seal on stretcher at back, with old label with attribution and details on stretcher at back.

19th Century. It depicts a female figure on a country path with houses at the back. The painting represents a rather rare depiction in the artist's work, since Jan H.B. Koekkoek is mainly known for his marine paintings.

The painting was preserved in a very good state of conservation with a small loss of paint towards upper right corner (please see detailed photos) which does not affect at all the overall aesthetics.
