Paule Marrot (1902–1987) was a highly regarded French textile and decorative arts designer, born in Bordeaux and later active in Paris, where she maintained a workshop producing designs for furnishing fabrics, wallpapers, and interior decoration. She is particularly known for her bold, stylised floral motifs and confident use of colour, closely associated with the Art Deco movement and mid-20th-century French decorative arts. Her work was admired internationally and has been associated in secondary sources with the refined decorative tastes of figures such as Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis.
This lot is an original vintage furnishing fabric, bearing the designer’s name printed in the selvedge. Dimensions: approx. 380 × 130 cm (including selvedge; approx. 120 cm usable width). The designer is deceased
