This is a 6 year old bottling that marries together four casks. Initial maturation within first fill ex-bourbon barrels for 3 years and 10 months, and an extended 2 year and 10 month secondary maturation within Ruby Port casks. The casks we have used for this bottling are American oak hogsheads that have been seasoned with Ruby Port. The extended secondary maturation of 2 years and 10 months for this first release has imbued our fruity whisky with lovely notes of summer berries and rich fruit. Bottling: Glasgow 1770 Ruby Port Cask Finish is presented at a batch strength of 55% ABV. This product is non-chill filtered, which means we’re keeping as much flavour and mouth-tactility within the bottle as possible. This bottle is also presented at natural colour, the pink hued colour all comes from the wood that we use to mature the whisky, first in first fill ex-bourbon and then in Ruby Port casks. The resulting single malt is rich and fruity, packed full of notes of summer berries, vibrant vanilla, and a light pink peppercorn spice.
