The sculpture is part of Project Archetype by Mitch Richmond Studio. This project showcases icons and objects that are widely recognized, and which have shaped modern-day popular culture as we know it today. For the artist, all the concepts in Project Archetype have been a result of past and present influences in his life that served as the foundation for contemporary works of art.

Born on the shores of the USA.
From there Mitch Richmond lived on 3 continents and even more different countries and cultures.
The high-contrast works are inspired by global concepts and beliefs from the past, present, and future, where our opposing cultures are a catalyst for his art.
The artist is not affiliated in any way with the NBA or Wilson, or any other entity other than the artist's own studio. This object is a fan-made replica.
