In 1967 two iron meteorite masses, have been found in the Magadan district, USSR. These masses have been pure iron; so Seymchan was classified as IIE iron meteorite. Systematic search by meteorite-hunters in the last ten years have produced several more masses, most of them with olivines in the iron matrix, so Seymchan is now official classified as main group Pallasite.
