The book is beautifully illustrated by William Henry Drake and J. L. Kipling (Kipling’s father), with frontispiece, plates, drawings and chapter headings throughout the text. Published by The Century Co., New York, 1917. Publisher’s original green boards with illustrations of Elephant on upper board, and tiger on the rear cover. Gilt lettering on front board and to spine. Top page edges gilt.
Book Dimensions: 20 x 14 cm and Number of Pages: 303 + 2 pages of books by the author
Condition
External covers with light wear to corner, and edges, and minor rubbings to head and foot of spine. Internally; the book in good condition. No names or inscriptions. Pages are clean with some faded marks to top inner hinges of the pages, and page edges. The illustrations in nice condition. A pleasing copy, without the usual evidence of handling by younger children (Collectible Copy) (Please see pictures).
