Neolithic agate necklace, certified
These pearls were found in the south of Niger and were used as a form of payment during the Neolithic and early iron age. There are a few beads in the chain of more recent date, probably 19th century, however, most are late Neolithic. (One pearl is made from glass, a so called ' feather bead, 19th century) Some are conically sharpened, others were left rough. Carnelian is the red variety of Agate.
The seller can demonstrate that the lot was obtained legally.
The lot comes from a Belgian collection.
Certificate of authenticity accompanies the necklace.
Certificate nr.10-07-2018, isuued by Belgian Chamber of Experts (CBEOA).
