Microscopio di prova per lino - 1950-1960 - Germania - Gelog

Vintage linen tester microscope by Gelog, Germany, circa 1950s–1960s. A compact portable optical instrument designed for close material inspection, commonly used in textile evaluation, printing, and industrial quality control. The microscope features a sliding magnification selector with engraved markings for approximately 40x, 50x, and 60x magnification. The body is constructed from lacquered metal with an early plastic (Bakelite-type) eyepiece, while functional elements such as the clip and fittings are made of metal, showing a natural patina consistent with age. The piece is accompanied by its original leather pouch. According to the previous owner, the microscope originated from a private collection belonging to a doctor, suggesting it may also have been used in a personal or professional observational context. Condition: Good vintage condition with visible signs of use. Minor wear to the lacquer and patina on metal components. The slider mechanism moves, and optics are present. Dimensions: approx. 13 × 2 × 2 cm Weight: approx. 63 g Materials: metal, glass, Bakelite, leather Origin: Germany The item will be carefully packed and shipped with tracking.
