Item Description
The Beatles: Dezo Hoffmann's Unpublished Photo Collection — a rare and highly collectible special commemorative edition published in Japan, capturing the Fab Four through the remarkable lens of their most trusted photographer.
Dezo Hoffmann had an unparalleled and intimate access to the Beatles from the very beginning of their rise to global stardom. This volume gathers a stunning selection of his previously unpublished photographs — images never before seen by the general public — offering an extraordinary and deeply personal window into the lives of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr during the height of Beatlemania.
Published as a special commemorative edition by Asahi Shimbun Publications (ISBN: 978-4-01-620353-4), this softcover photo book is presented in a high-quality large format. The photographs span the early 1960s, when Hoffmann first traveled to Liverpool in 1962 to photograph the then-unknown group, through the peak years of their legendary career. His images are candid, warm, and often humorous — reflecting the close personal bond he shared with all four members.
This is an exceptional piece for any serious Beatles collector or admirer of mid-twentieth century rock and pop photography. The book is in pristine, unread condition, preserving every photograph in perfect clarity.

Artist Profile
Dezo Hoffmann (1912–1986), born Dezider Hoffmann in Banská Štiavnica (then Austria-Hungary, now Slovakia), was one of the most celebrated music photographers of the twentieth century. After studying journalism in Prague and surviving World War II as part of a Czechoslovak RAF squadron, he settled in London and began a distinguished career photographing entertainment celebrities. In 1962, he traveled to Liverpool to photograph an unknown local band — the Beatles — and the encounter sparked one of the most significant photographer-subject relationships in rock history. Hoffmann went on to shoot more pictures of the Beatles than any other photographer, and many of his images — including the cover of their Live at the BBC album — have become iconic. He also photographed Charlie Chaplin, Marilyn Monroe, The Rolling Stones, Elton John, Jimi Hendrix, and Frank Sinatra, among many others.
