Descrizione del venditore
Beautiful set featuring three Orthoceras fossils, elegantly displayed on a black metal stand designed for three pieces (included). These ancient marine animals were among the earliest life forms to inhabit the planet and were discovered in the northwestern Sahara, Morocco.
Orthoceras are extinct cephalopod mollusks belonging to a long-lost group. They lived in the oceans hundreds of millions of years ago, primarily during the Ordovician and Silurian periods. Their name, meaning “straight horn” in Greek, refers to the distinctive elongated, conical shape of their shells. Each shell is divided into chambers separated by septa and connected by a central siphuncle.
The specimens are well-preserved and clearly display the characteristic internal structure of Orthoceras, making this set both scientifically interesting and visually striking—ideal as a collectible or refined decorative piece.
– Three separate Orthoceras specimens
– Black metal display stand for three pieces included
