Here we have the highly Collectible and highly sort-after Oris Mini-Seconds Cali 701 7249 Gold-Filled Mechanical watch in stunning condition. This rare vintage Oris reveals a beautiful and immaculately preserved silvery-white sunburst dial after a good clean-up. The 3D gold-filled Arabic Numerals and Wedge indices, dauphine hands, and gold-filled Chapter Ring are in superb condition after undergoing a thorough clean-up as well. Its typical cylindrical shaped gold-filled case and vintage expendable bracelet had undergone a thorough cleaning and buff albeit a few miniscule scratches that are barely noticeable. The crystal was given a good buff however miniscule hairline scratches are present. The crown is located at the traditional 3H position and is nicely tucked away to prevent damage or snags. The movement was carefully stripped, meticulously cleaned, oiled, re-assembled and calibrated on 12 March 2024. In short, it was given an overhaul and should be able to operate unhindered until the next servicing thereby providing the owner peace of mind. Equipped with the highly prized 701 movement, it has 7 Jewels and operate at 18,000 BPH. The time-grapher shows superb readings of +4 seconds every 24 hours and amplitude of 238 with a relatively straight centered line! Such readings are truly exceptional even by brand new modern automatic watch standards whereby the accepted tolerance is -20 to +40 seconds a day! This is a testament to the quality, excellent power reserve and longevity for such a vintage timepiece, the meticulous care provided over the years, and of course the painstaking calibration conducted. To the best of our knowledge and expertise when overhauling the timepiece, the watch is 100% original Oris components from this particular watch. No parts were replaced with aftermarket parts or modified thereby it is considered in stunning condition. Due to its age, this timepiece has not been water-resistant tested. The case width and height are approximately 32mm (without crown) and 37.5mm respectively. The lug width is 16mm and the bracelet can accommodate wrists up to 18.0cm; thus, this watch is suitable for men and the modern women. A vintage gold-plated expendable SS bracelet is provided. It that too had undergone a thorough cleaning and tightening of links and a buff. It is now in excellent condition. The pictures provided shows the watch in excellent condition, and the movement within squeaky clean and well maintained. It has also been demagnetised to improve parts reliability, minimise wear & tear, and improve accuracy. The only drawback is the lack of documentation and original box. An aftermarket box or purposeful carrying case will be provided instead. Bear in mind that this watch has seen many of the previous owners’ ups and downs in life and should be cherished and preserved for the next generation to savour such engineering beauty. Yes, there are many other same / similar models in the market, BUT none as beautifully aged and as well maintained as what you see here.
