Medievale Bronzo Coppia di supporti per imbracatura (Senza prezzo di riserva)
A pair of fine Medieval bronze harness mounts, in the shape of leaves. Each mount displays a leaf-shaped body, resembling hearts, with gently sloping halves meeting at a raised central midrib. The reverse is concave and features a pair of short, cylindrical pegs for attachment. Remnants of the bronze plates remain attached to the pegs through the rivet holes. Earthly encrustations, patina, and signs of wear as consistent with age, such as pitting, scratches, chipping, particularly to the edges, and indentation, to the surface.
Horse mount pendants have been found in abundance since the Roman period, in military towns and fortresses, and past the Medieval period. These militaria additions were mostly decorative or they had a metaphysical function with apotropaic values. They were used as decoration, hung off the harness of a horse. Most finds are the result of stray pendants falling off their harness but some examples have been found in specific hordes.
