Michael is the chief archangel, the chief guardian of the kingdom of heaven and the chief guardian of God's law. In addition, according to beliefs, Archangel Michael guards the body of Moses and leads souls to hell or paradise. The name Michael itself literally means "Who is like the Lord?".
