Giapponese. raden Kusarigama (lima a catena) - Giappone

----- Japanese Kusarigama (Chain Sickle) - Traditional Martial Arts Weapon & Ninja Shinobi Infiltration kusarigama -42.5 cm blade -11 cm chain -185 cm weight -738 gm Overview: An Japanese "Kusarigama" (Chain Sickle / 鎖鎌), a legendary and complex multi-functional weapon originating from feudal Japan. Deeply associated with specialized Samurai martial arts (Koryu Bujutsu) and universally recognized as one of the most iconic, covert weapons used by the Ninja (Shinobi). The weapon combines a sharp sickle (Kama) for close-quarters slashing, a long iron chain (Kusari) for entangling the opponent or their weapon, and a heavy iron weight (Fundo) at the end for striking from a distance. This piece offers incredible historical presence for collectors of traditional Japanese weaponry and martial history. Design & Structural Details: * The Sickle Head (Kama): Features a curved, single-edged iron blade meticulously fitted to the top of the handle. The base of the blade includes an integrated small metal loop where the chain is securely anchored. * The Handle (Tsuka): Crafted from dense, dark aged hardwood, beautifully reinforced with tightly wound protective metal wire wraps (cord bands) at the top, center, and base to ensure structural integrity and a non-slip grip under combat conditions. * Chain & Weight (Kusari & Fundo): Accompanied by a long, hand-forged iron chain composed of interlocking links that exhibit wonderful rustic age. The chain terminates in a rounded, solid iron counterweight (Fundo) designed to deliver crushing impact blows. Condition: The iron blade, chain, and weight show expected dark oxidation, light surface rust, and minor pitting consistent with age, emphasizing its historical era. The wooden handle remains structurally sound and solid with natural scuffs and a beautiful aged finish. Please inspect all high-resolution photos carefully to appreciate the raw, rustic character of this rare shinobi weapon.
