La Promessa Dimenticata is a visual artwork by Nik Haku that captures an encounter between a woman and a bird at the edge of two worlds. Surrounded by mountains and fading light, the scene unfolds like a fragment of a forgotten legend, suspended between memory and dream.

Artista statement:

There is an old tale that says every soul is born with a messenger. Most never see it. Others spend their entire lives searching for it. In this image, the search is over.
The bird arrives not as a visitor, but as a keeper of something once lost—a promise, a memory, a name. The woman stands in the water because water remembers what people forget. Between them exists a silent conversation, one that does not require words.
I wanted this work to feel like the moment two ancient companions find each other again after lifetimes apart, carrying the certainty that some bonds remain untouched by time, distance, or death.

My practice blends multiple techniques —primarily fine art photography, complemented by painting— to construct images that move fluidly between mediums. My work spans portraiture and landscapes, beginning with photographic capture and evolving through painting, AI, and digital manipulation. I aim to create visual worlds where memory, identity, and imagined space overlap, dissolving the boundaries between what is seen and what is felt.
