Vaso - Ceramica - Giappone - 瀧田項一/Koichi Takita vaso

Aka-e Cockscomb-Form Vase with Wooden Box This is an Aka-e cockscomb-form vase by Koichi Takita. Koichi Takita was born in 1927 in Karasuyama, Tochigi Prefecture. After graduating from the Crafts Department of Tokyo School of Fine Arts, he studied under Kenkichi Tomimoto and Shoji Hamada. He later became independent in Aizu-Hongo in 1949. While influenced by the Mingei folk craft movement, Takita developed his own distinctive style through Aka-e decoration, white glaze, and strong ceramic forms. He also served as a professor at Okinawa Prefectural University of Arts and was recognized as a Person of Cultural Merit by Tochigi Prefecture. This work has a soft white glazed body decorated with expressive red and blue-green accents. The cockscomb-form vase is characterized by its distinctive spout and large curved handle, giving it a strong sculptural presence. The rounded body and flowing handle line are elegant, and the bright yet refined color balance shows Takita’s excellent sense of design. It can be enjoyed both as a flower vase and as a decorative ceramic object. Comes with its original wooden box. Condition No major damage is visible. There are small areas of rubbing or kiln-related marks near the base. Minor age-related wear and surface marks may be present. Please check the photos carefully.
