The Cameronbridge 26 Year Old Special Release (part of Diageo's 2022 "Elusive Expressions" collection) is a rare Lowland single grain Scotch.
Distilled in 1995 and bottled in 2022 at a natural cask strength of 56.2% ABV, it was matured entirely in refill American Oak casks.
Profile & Tasting Notes
Aroma: Light and refined with notes of tropical fruits (mango, papaya), vanilla fudge, toasted coconut, and a touch of scented beeswax.
Palate: Silky, creamy, and intense. Flavors of caramel toffee, butterscotch, and honey develop into a balancing spicy, dry oak. Adding water can mellow the spice and bring out creamy milk chocolate and pear.
Finish: Long and warming with lingering notes of white chocolate and warming chili spice.
This release is unique as it is one of the only single grain whiskies featured in the Special Releases, highlighting how complex and rich older grain whiskies can be.
The bottle's fantasy-themed design pays homage to the Scottish legend of a brave knight who forged a crown after a 26-year battle, celebrating the distillery's founding in 1824.
