The CD "Postkarten" (originally released by Auvidis/AUA Records in 1997) is a stunning work of poetry and music, featuring Edoardo Sanguineti's narrator and Stefano Scodanibbio's double bass. The Opera and the Music The Concept: Scodanibbio selected and recomposed several poems from Sanguineti's collection of the same name. The music is not simply a backdrop, but an instrumental practice that creates a "double," a series of variations (the "postcards"). The Performance: The sound of the double bass is articulated around a sharp, harmonious horizon line, which supports the poet's vocal interpretation, characterized by an anti-rhetorical reading and a measured rhythm. Availability:
The CD is considered an absolute rarity and is extremely hard to find.
The Context: The artistic partnership between the famous poet of Gruppo 63 and the virtuoso double bass player has also led to other projects, such as "Alfabeto apocalittico" (with projections by Enrico Baj) and has profoundly influenced contemporary drama.
