Tibetan Buddhist Hayagriva-Vajrakilaya Demon-Subduing Dagger
The finial features a traditional three-faced wrathful deity, encircled by tiers of demonic visages and crowned by the head of Hayagriva; the facial features, fangs, and scrolled ear ornaments are rendered in deep, three-dimensional relief, exuding a solemn and majestic aura. The central grip is intricately chased with a crossed-vajra motif and geometric patterns, featuring a segmented, waisted design for ease of handling. The blade section depicts a Garuda head clutching a tri-faceted point, with a sacred serpent coiled in relief around the shaft—symbolizing the Tantric ritual intent to sever the three poisons of greed, hatred, and ignorance.
