Descrizione del venditore
Overview
Elegant console made in Italy during the 1950s, with a rosewood structure, ebonized Maple, and a glass top. The designer is not documented, but the piece fully belongs to the language of great post-war Italian design, with clear stylistic affinities to the production of Vittorio Dassi and Osvaldo Borsani.
Description
The console features a light and dynamic structure, characterized by two side supports with slender and organic forms. The vertical openings visually lighten the composition and give the piece a strong sculptural presence.
The contrast between the dark wood of the supports, the warm rosewood of the central body, and the transparency of the glass top creates a refined balance between material, lightness, and architecture.
Design & Function
The central body consists of a small storage compartment with a front drawer, enriched by a grooved front and a brass knob. The upper section and the lateral wooden shelf provide elegant and functional surfaces, while the glass top above enhances the lightness of the composition and gives the piece a sophisticated and modern character.
The shaped lower crossbar connects the two side supports, strengthening the structure and completing the design with a fluid and harmonious detail.
Materials & Aesthetic
The formal language of the console recalls the Italian taste of the 1950s, a period in which domestic furniture combined craftsmanship, elegant proportions, precious materials, and highly refined construction solutions.
Perfect as an entrance console or occasional piece for a sophisticated living room, this console retains a strong scenographic presence and a typically mid-century elegance.
The combination of rosewood, ebonized maple, brass, and glass makes it a highly decorative piece, capable of fitting naturally into both historic interiors and contemporary spaces.
Dimensions: Height: 90cm | Length: 86cm | Depth: 28,5cm | Length of the glass top: 103,5cm | Depth of the glass top: 20cm
