Set di 4 reperti archeologici Sentani - Papua Occidentale (Senza prezzo di riserva)
Four wooden implements recovered from the bottom of Lake Sentani, field collected in 1996. These objects are associated with everyday food and social practices in the lake settlements.
The tools are carved from wood and were likely used in the consumption of sago porridge, the staple food in the region, and possibly also in the preparation and handling of betel nut paste, an important stimulant in social and ritual exchange.
Their form suggests repeated handling and functional use rather than ceremonial display. Subtle wear traces indicate long-term use before deposition in the lake, where they were preserved in anaerobic conditions.
Together, these objects offer a rare glimpse into domestic life around Lake Sentani, where food preparation, chewing practices, and social interaction were closely intertwined.
