Servizio da tè - Legno e Ceramica - Chabako tea chest

This wonderful chest was used for small intimate tea ceremonies. Various objects are used for Japanese tea rituals. The handy objects are often stored in a chest. The composition of the various bowls, pots and, for example, lid holders are personal. Ceramics can therefore come from various Japanese regions. Tea ceremony utensil set in a wooden storage box consisting of: - A stunning porcelain mizusashi 水指 (cold water container) glazed with a white glaze and decorated beautifully with blue details. - A chawan 茶碗 (tea bowl) of wonderful stoneware with a beautiful dark brown glaze. Marked by the artist. - A blue/green sandstone futa-oki 置 (bed and ladle rest) with a carved motif. - A bamboo hishaku 柄杓 (ladle). (separable into two parts) - A traditional whisk - A small container to fill with tea. The box is 52 cm tall and 17 cm wide and deep. This wooden chabako is used when a tea ceremony takes place away from the teacher.
