"Avant le Monde" exists in the minutes that belong to no one, the ones between waking and becoming, between the warmth of the bed she has just left and the first sound of the city below. A woman stands bare on a small Parisian balcony, a copper watering can in her hand tilted gently over the flowers that have been waiting for her since yesterday. She is bare because the morning has not yet asked her to be anything else. The geraniums do not care. The roses do not notice. The wrought iron railing holds her the way it holds the ivy, without opinion. Across the street the Haussmann facade still sleeps behind closed shutters, and for as long as they remain closed, this balcony belongs only to her, a narrow rectangle of iron and stone suspended between the privacy of the room behind and the city that will soon begin beneath. The morning light finds her the way it finds the flowerpots and the copper and the old stone, without choosing, without asking, simply arriving because that is what light does. She waters the flowers with the patience of someone who does this every morning and will do it again tomorrow, a ritual so quiet and so ordinary that it has become the most honest thing she does all day. The world will start soon. But not yet.
The artwork explores themes such as the balcony as the last frontier between the intimate and the public, the morning ritual as a form of solitude that asks nothing in return, the body before it becomes a performance, and the particular beauty of a woman who has not yet decided who she will be today.
T. Pimenta is a Portuguese artist whose commitment to creating visually striking artworks seeks to develop pieces capable of establishing visual presence and emotional connection with viewers and collectors.
The creative process begins with an initial conceptual construction, where the central narrative and emotional direction of the composition are defined. Subsequently, the artistic vision is developed through Adobe tools, digital construction processes and the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI), adding depth, texture, light and structural refinement.
His approach combines traditional artistic sensibilities with contemporary digital techniques, allowing the exploration of different visual languages and the continuous expansion of creative possibilities.
Each artwork additionally receives a manual finishing intervention through an individual hand-applied artistic varnishing process, designed to reinforce luminosity, visual depth and material presence.
