Signed, Eikoh Hosoe - Eikoh Hosoe Photographs 1951 1988 - 1988

Eikoh Hosoe Photographs 1951 1988 Eikoh Hosoe Photo: The World of Eikoh Hosoe Exhibition Executive Committee/1988/Japanese/21×29.7cm *Eikoh Hosoe: The World of Eikoh Hosoe / Eikoh Hosoe Photographs 1951–1988*, a collection of works by Eikoh Hosoe (1933–2024), one of the leading photographers of postwar Japan. A great artist who passed away last year at the age of 91, much to everyone’s sorrow. He was the mentor of Daido Moriyama, who remains active today, and left behind masterpieces that shine brilliantly in the history of Japanese photography—such as *Men and Women* (1961), *The Rose Punishment* (1963), and *Kamaitachi* (1969)—masterpieces that shine brilliantly in the history of Japanese photography. He became a freelancer immediately after graduating from a junior college of photography and continued his creative work alongside commercial projects without interruption, while also venturing into international work from an early stage—a true superstar. In his later years, he also devoted himself to mentoring the next generation at universities. This book is a catalog of works published to coincide with exhibitions held throughout Japan from 1988 to 1989. It presents 200 original prints, summarizing the photographer’s career spanning several decades. The volume includes descriptions of each work and a detailed biography at the end.
